Joyful Joy Foundation hosted a stand-up comedy for its first fundraiser on April 26, 2013 at Gramercy Theater in Manhattan.

The founders of the nonprofit organization, former Miss Black USA, Osas Ighodaro and friend Sioux Greaux wanted to bridge philanthropy and entertainment by inviting to the stage artists who were passionate about making a difference.

Capone, Brandon, AJ, Mimi, Idriss, Smokey Suarez and the “King of African Comedy”, Michael Blackson, spread love and laughter to a delighted audience, to raise money for healthcare and poverty alleviation in Africa.

“The organization was named after my sister Joy who passed away from Malaria in 2006. It is important for me be an additional voice to an issue that is taking a toll on too many lives in Africa and in Nigeria in particular “ the former miss USA said.
