ASA youth committee celebrates 55th Anniversary of the independence of Senegal

The youth committee of the Association of Senegalese in America (ASA) hosted in Harlem a reception in celebration of the 55th Anniversary of the independence of Senegal on April 4, 2015, at the newly renovated headquarters of ASA.

During the very well attended event were honored volunteers who offered their time and expertise to revamp the headquarters in February. The honorees included Demba Cissé, Pathé NDiaye, Mody Diop, Amadou Ba and Papa Alioune Fall.

Senator Bill Perkins who attended the celebration along with Permanent Representative of Senegal to the United Nations Ambassador Fodé Seck, Consul General of Senegal El Hadj NDao and several other African leaders, also presented a proclamation to Ibrahim Sow, the president of ASA.
