Algiers, Algeria (PANA) – The Algerian President, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, has urged member countries of the Association of African oil-producing countries to consult widely following the drop in the oil prices.
According to the Algerian deputy-minister for Maghreb and African affairs, Abdelkader Messahel, Bouteflika’s call was contained in a message delivered Friday by the Algerian Prime minister, Abdelmalek Sellal, on the sidelines of the 24th African Union summit in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.
The message was transmitted to the presidents of Gabon, Angola, Congo, Equatorial Guinea and Nigeria.
According to him, President Bouteflika’s call was to enable the African countries to discuss and coordinate their efforts to face the crisis on the oil market.
