On January 11, 2022, Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson held a vigil for victims of the fire that broke out last Sunday in the 19-story building located in the Bronx at 333 Twins Parks North West.
A total of seventeen residents died of smoke inhalation, and more than forty are still in the hospital.
Several elected officials and community leaders, including NYS Attorney General Letitia James, Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark, Congressman Ritchie Torres, NYC Council Speaker Adrienne Adams, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, Imam Sanku Kabba, Sheikh Musa Drammeh, Salim Drammeh, Ramatu Ahmed, and Imam Konate attended the event.
