Muslim Community Network shows solidarity with immigrants at Civic Action Day

The Muslim Community Network, founded in 2003 to respond to urgent needs after 9/11, hosted on August 29, 2019 in Manhattan, a “Civic Action Day: Muslims for Migrant Rights” event in response to the ICE Raids in Mississippi and the Public Charge Rule.

The event gave Muslim attendees an opportunity to write letters to elected officials, create a banner expressing solidarity with immigrants, and listen to spoken word poetry by Daad Sharfi, Samira Sadeque, Faatiha Aayat and Alhassan Umar
