Liberian-born philanthropist MacDella Cooper took the challenge to provide orphans and abandoned children in post war Liberia with education and basic necessities when she founded the MacDella Cooper Foundation in 2004.

To guarantee each student of the foundation’s free boarding school his own bed, school uniforms, backpacks, shoes and three daily meals during the 2013/14 school year, Cooper hosted a reception on May 16, 2013 at the Italian consulate in Manhattan.

During the reception, MacDella Cooper also honored Dr. Jane Aronson, the founder & CEO of Worldwide Orphans Foundation.
