African New Yorker Nathalie Etoke launches English version of her book Melancholia Africana

Nathalie Etoke, author and associate Professor of Francophone and Africana Studies at CUNY Graduate Center, launched the English version of her book Melancholia Africana the indispensable overcoming of the black condition on October 30, 2019 at the People’s Forum in Manhattan.

Nathalie Etoke was joined by Philosophy Professor Lewis R. Gordon who wrote the book’s foreword and Souleymane Bachir Diagne, director of Columbia University’s Institute of African Studies for a reading and panel discussion.

Melancholia Africana was first published in French in 2010 and was recently translated by French teacher Bill Hamlett.
